Supporting the National Team at the Paris Olympics
The SPC Group lent its support to the South Korean national team competing in the Paris Olympics, cheering on their quest for gold. As an official sponsor of the South Korean national team Team Korea through its Paris Baguette brand, the SPC Group launched a campaign during the 2024 Paris Olympics. The company delivered freshly made bread, cakes, and other products from local stores to the national team as part of the campaign. The SPC Group presented congratulatory cakes to the medal-winning fencing, judo, and shooting athletes during a press conference for the South Korean medalists at the Korea House in Paris on August 4. Throughout the competition, the SPC Group provided over 30,000 products to the national team.

CEO Investor Day Held
LOTTE Chemical hosted the CEO Investor Day event for major domestic institutional investors and analysts on July 4. “We will achieve qualitative growth by responding actively to the pace of change with clear directions and goals,” said CEO Lee Hun-ki in his opening remarks, outlining the company’s aim to achieve corporate value of more than KRW 50 trillion by 2030 through successful portfolio transformation. The plan includes establishing a sustainable business structure by clearly defining the direction of five strategic business units: basic chemicals, advanced materials, specialty chemicals, battery materials, and hydrogen energy.

Australian NEL Road Project in Full Swing
GS E&C’s Australian NEL Road Project officially gained traction on July 24. With total investment of KRW 10.1 trillion, this large-scale project involves constructing a 6.5-kilometer tunnel connecting Melbourne’s M80 Ring Road with the Eastern Freeway. GS E&C’s portion of the project is approximately KRW 2.8 trillion. Notably, this is GS E&C’s first venture into Australia’s infrastructure market, and the project is being implemented as a Public-Private Partnership (PPP)—a model recently gaining renewed attention for its collaboration between private entities and the government. Leveraging its years of construction expertise and PPP project capabilities, GS E&C is aiming to complete the project by the end of December 2028.

First Monopile for Yeonggwang Nakwol Offshore Wind Power Project Successfully Shipped
GS Entec successfully shipped the first monopile for the Yeonggwang Nakwol Offshore Wind Power Project from its Yongjam Plant in Ulsan on July 25. Supplied for a domestic offshore wind project exceeding 100 MW, the monopile represents the first foundation structure installed for such projects in Korea. The first monopile produced by GS Entec has a length of 71.2 meters, a diameter of 7.5 meters, and a weight of 895.6 tons, and is capable of supporting a 5.7 MW turbine. By September next year, GS Entec is set to supply a total of 64 monopiles for the Yeonggwang Nakwol Project led by Myungwoon Industry Development.
